Tide Riders — Watercraft Racing
This page describes, in plain language, what Tide Riders actually does with player data today. It is a starting point for [STUDIO NAME]'s legal team, not a finished policy —Needs legal review
Tide Riders keeps a player profile in your browser's local storage, on your own device. That profile can include your in-game credits balance, which craft you have unlocked, your settings, your career statistics, a display name you choose yourself, and a matchmaking rating (MMR). Needs legal review
When you open Multiplayer, the game sends your display name, your chosen craft and your MMR to our game server over a live connection (WebSocket) so it can match you into a race and show your name to other players. Nothing else in your local profile is sent. Needs legal review
We do not use analytics, advertising or third-party trackers of any kind. There is no account system, no email address is collected, and no payment information is collected or processed by the game. Needs legal review
Local profile data drives your own single-player experience — remembering your progress, your craft and your settings between sessions. The display name, craft and MMR shared during Multiplayer are used solely to place you in a race and to show other players who they are racing against. Needs legal review
We do not sell or share player data with advertisers or data brokers. The only data that leaves your device is the Multiplayer information described above, sent directly to [STUDIO NAME]'s game server. Needs legal review
Your local profile stays on your device until you clear it or uninstall the game. Multiplayer session data (display name, craft, MMR) is retained on our server for [RETENTION PERIOD] for matchmaking and leaderboard purposes. Needs legal review
You can permanently erase your local profile at any time from Settings → Legal & Privacy → Delete my data. This removes your credits, unlocked craft, settings, career stats, display name and MMR from this device. Needs legal review
Tide Riders is not directed at children under the age required by [JURISDICTION] law, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because the only data leaving the device is a player-chosen display name used for matchmaking, parents or guardians concerned about that name can clear it from Settings at any time.
